The Coroner's involvement in a death occurs at a time of great personal distress for the family and friends of that person. The Coronial Information and Support Program (CISP) is
available to help family and friends understand the coronial process, understand their right to object to the post mortem, and understand what happens during an inquest, if one is held.
CISP staff can also refer family and friends of the deceased to other relevant services, including counselling services.
CISP staff cannot offer legal advice.
